Water ParksSchool is out for the summer and you’re on your way to Orlando. Of course it’s the hottest time of the year to visit the theme parks, so what can you do to get relief from the heat? You can choose to stay in the air conditioning, but what fun is that? Or, you can frolic with the whole family at Orlando’s fabulous water parks. So pack your sunscreen and get ready for cool fun in the sizzling sun.

With 30 acres of thrilling slides, Wet ’n Wild – Orlando is the original Orlando water park. Whether you’re body surfing in the wave pool or flying down the flumes, you’re sure to have a ball. Not far away you’ll find SeaWorld® Orlando where there are many ways to get wet. Catch a terrific marine show starring Shamu and be sure to grab a refreshing seat in the Soak Zone. Aquatica is SeaWorld’s brand new water park. One of the highlights is the Dolphin Plunge where you get to slide in a tube through a living habitat of Commerson’s Dophins. Across the street at Discovery Cove® you can enjoy the special opportunity of swimming with dolphins and snorkeling along a coral reef. The experience can be pricey and requires reservations, but if you’re looking for a unique adventure it’s worth it.

Disney seems to make their mark in many ways in Orlando and water parks are no exception. At Walt Disney World® Resort you’ll find two wonderful water parks themed with the utmost detail. With its storm-wrecked look and giant volcano, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will entertain any castaway. Plummet down Humunga Kowabunga, a 214-foot, high-speed slide, or just watch the wee ones splash around in the fountains and slides of Ketchakiddie Creek. But nothing is cooler than Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Snow caps and icicles theme this water park that has everything from slippery multi-person slides like Teamboat Springs to fast flumes like Slush Gusher. After all the excitement you might want to take a relaxing ride around the lazy river known as Cross Country Creek.
