Feeling Blue?
August 4, 2008
When you go to Las Vegas you can’t miss one of the most happening shows around — Blue Man Group. It combines tribal rhythms, contemporary mime, comedy and multimedia theatrics in an all-around entertaining show. It all comes together as an amazing display of creative percussion and absurd antics performed by a trio of men covered in blue makeup. Their off-the-wall humor has paved the way for other less traditional Las Vegas shows.
Blue Man Group performs to a live band, resulting in a production of art and music. The group’s inspired act uses all kinds of weird objects, none too ordinary or too odd to use. Breakfast cereal, office supplies, a bar of soap — all have become part of the show. Some have been percussion instruments others merely projectiles. The shows are also highly interactive as they incorporate members of the audience.
Performances by the Blue Man Group are always energetic, and the show changes enough that you can go more than once. It’s also a terrific show for the entire family — children can often be heard laughing out loud.
The show runs every day of the week — Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at both 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Tickets are $81 – $132.
