What an Inspiration
October 1, 2008
Standing on Inspiration Point in Branson’s Shepherd of the Hills Homestead, Inspiration Tower is quite a sight to see. It is a colossal 230 feet tall, weighs 3 million pounds and cost approximately $1.5 million to build. The tower contains more than 92,000 pounds of structural steel, and it can withstand a constant wind of 172 miles per hour. Two glass elevators transport visitors to the roomy, enclosed observation deck, where you can relax and enjoy the 360-degree view. An audio tour tells you exactly what you’re looking at and offers a little bit about the history of the area while you’re taking in the scenery. You can also get gorgeous panoramic views of the Branson countryside and the Ozark Mountains from the open-air deck. On a clear day you can see for more than 90 miles.
Tickets are $15.66 for adults and $10.31 for children. Children age 3 and under are free
