Palm Springs – The Oasis in the Desert

With everything from terrific museums to fabulous shops to exciting nightclubs, you’re sure to enjoy yourself day and night.

The natural surroundings of Palm Springs are unique and quite beautiful. At Indian Canyons you’ll appreciate the breathtaking contrast between the rocky desert and the indigenous flora. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and have a picnic. Take a Hummer tour of Joshua Tree National Park and you’ll find more than 800,000 acres of the most interesting geological formations anywhere. And at the Living Desert you’ll come across wildlife like magnificent cats, howling wolves and gorgeous botanical gardens.

There are several attractions that will keep you entertained while you’re in the area. For a great view of the Coachella Valley take a trip up the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. For high flying of a different sort, visit the Palm Springs Air Museum, dedicated to the restoration, preservation and operation of America’s legendary fighters and bombers. It contains one of the world’s largest collections of World War II airplanes. At the Palm Springs Art Museum you can see contemporary works of American artists and Native American works. For a change of pace, you might enjoy the Palm Springs Walk of Stars where celebrities’ names are embedded in the sidewalk.

In addition to the wonderful boutiques in Palm Springs, you might want to check out VillageFest. With its fabulous array of street performers and over 200 booths selling everything from handcrafted items to food, it’s a great place to spend an evening.
